In the beginning of 2016, Obuv Rossii produced the first batch of shoes that is intended for use in the conditions of Extreme North. The Company develops this type of footwear under a separate brand, Pioneer of Arctic Travel. For the manufacture of such footwear, special technologies are used that make it possible for the footwear to stand low temperatures and unfavourable weather conditions.
The Stop Ice technology is used in the shoes - a special sole and a protector ensuring high level of anti-slip protection. The upper is made with the use of the frost-proof EVA material that possesses good thermal-insulating properties. New materials are developed in the Company’s R&D centre that is part of Obuv Rossii GC, in the Modified Polymeres laboratory.
Samples from the first batch have been provided to the Expedition Centre of Russian Geographical Society to be tested at the Barneo ice station.
