Production of footwear

In November 2015, the Company obtained 100% of the S-TEP shoe company which controls a shoe factory in the town of Berdsk, Novosibirsk Region, as well as a shoe wholesale subdivision. The S-TEP factory could provide a complete cycle of shoe production utilizing the injection moulded shoe construction method. All production in the factory is fully automated. The facility has been functioning for over 15 years now and has state-of-the-art equipment provided by leaders in their sectors. In December 2016, Obuv Rossii and Orisol, a world leader in the production of automated sewing systems, launched a joint training centre for footwear specialists in the Novosibirsk Region. This is the first and so far only such centre in Russia and the CIS countries.

Currently, Obuv Rossii manufactures footwear utilizing all main methods of sole attachment – cement, injection moulded and combined construction. The Obuv Rossii factory is one of the most technologically advanced facilities in the country. Obuv Rossii produces a wide range of products for its own retail sales, but also footwear by order for other retail chains.

Obuv Rossii production range includes:

  • Manufacture facility for the production of shoes using the injection moulded shoe construction method. The unit is equipped with machinery from leading international manufacturers including Desma injection units, Newlast automated cutting systems and Orisol sewing systems. The new unit can also perform 3D shoe modelling.

  • Natural leather shoe production using the cement shoe construction method. The production process starts from the preparation of the upper and finishes with the attachment of the sole and adding the finishing touches. All assembly processes are fully automated. The Obuv Rossii facilities are equipped with modern machinery by German and Italian manufacturers such as Main Group, Schőn, Plastak, Pfaff, Molina Bianchi, Sigma, Elettrotecnica, etc.

  • Production of components and shoe bottom parts such as soles, heels, insoles and shoe lasts. The Obuv Rossii component production does not only satisfy the needs of the Company network, but it also supplies products to external partners.

  • Automated production unit for manufacture of shoes using EVA. A new production line was launched in spring 2014 which made it possible to perform a whole cycle of shoe production including die extrusion, putting shoes on the last, etc. Equipment for the new unit cost 1.7 mln euros and was supplied by the German Company Bohmer Technik GmbH. The capacity of the unit is 500,000 pairs of shoes annually.

  • Special purpose footwear.  Launched in May 2016, the Obuv Rossii special purpose footwear production facility boasts high-tech equipment supplied by Svit. In order to develop this type of manufacture, the Company had to master the technique of robber hot vulcanization in shoes production.
